DLMS UA Working Groups are organized to address specific aspects of the organization's mission, drawing on the expertise of members from various sectors.
Each working group is structured with a Chair and a Secretary to guide activities, ensure effective communication, and coordinate deliverables. These groups operate under the supervision of the Technical Board, reporting progress and aligning their work with the organization's strategic goals.

The working groups are designed to evolve based on industry needs. At present, there are six active working groups, each focusing on a specific domain:
Smart Metering Working Group:
Focuses on the development and enhancement of DLMS/COSEM standards for smart metering applications, ensuring interoperability and alignment with market requirements.DMD/Revenue-grade Smart Metering Working Group:
Addresses standards for sub-metering and demand management devices, enabling integration with smart appliances and ensuring compatibility across various platforms.HUMS (Health and Usage Monitoring Systems) Working Group:
Develops use cases and standards for monitoring the health and usage of equipment, enhancing operational reliability and efficiency.Edge Gateway Working Group:
Explores standards and specifications for edge gateways, focusing on secure data handling, connectivity, and enabling interoperability between devices and systems.Public Utility Advisory Working Group:
Composed of utility representatives, this group ensures that DLMS UA standards meet the specific needs of public utilities and validates roadmaps for alignment with industry demands.Core Specification Working Group:
Maintains and enhances the DLMS/COSEM core specifications, ensuring consistency and addressing transversal tasks such as data security, firmware updates, and device commissioning.
